For the Love of Pinecones

What is it about a pine cone that fascinates me?

When I think of a pine cone I think of Christmas & decorations

and all the things I can do with them.

You can paint them silver & gold, glitter them, turn them into a fabulous wreath,

use them on your Christmas table like I did below

or just place them in a bowl and sprinkle them with essential oils.

I can smell them already!!!!

Mike and I have a ritual during hunting season. He watches for deer and elk

and I look for pine cones.

I have him trained pretty well.

We will be driving in the Forrest and low and behold on the side of the road is a slew of pine cones. Of course we are at 4000 foot level and its snowing like a dickens, but he always thinks of me when he says "look, there is some more of your dumb pine cones" that's my queue to get out :)

Do you decorate with pine cones. I would love to hear all your ideas!!!

Let's Take a Moment and.....Dream

Oh how I dream of simpler times....

Being a wife and mother (that doesn't work), taking care of things on the farm, baking, making canned goods, feeding the animals.....Sounds like heaven. They say these women lead a hard life....I would like to be one of those women....Just to see, if only for awhile.

Here is the farmhouse that Mike and I would fix up....

I've Been A Busy Little Bee

I have been a busy little bee.

Why you might ask?????

"Monticello Fall Premier Show"

Tonight Mike met me at the antique mall and we laid out the bones for my booth.

It is coming together perfectly!!!!

I will make another trip tomorrow after work and do some more decorating, then one more load of the big items Wed after work and Thurs will be the final arranging and pricing.
