For the Love of Pinecones

What is it about a pine cone that fascinates me?
When I think of a pine cone I think of Christmas & decorations
and all the things I can do with them.
You can paint them silver & gold, glitter them, turn them into a fabulous wreath,
use them on your Christmas table like I did below
or just place them in a bowl and sprinkle them with essential oils.
I can smell them already!!!!
Thank you Isabel for the pic of my table :)

Mike and I have a ritual during hunting season. He watches for deer and elk
and I look for pine cones.
I have him trained pretty well.
We will be driving in the Forrest and low and behold on the side of the road is a slew of pine cones. Of course we are at 4000 foot level and its snowing like a dickens, but he always thinks of me when he says "look, there is some more of your dumb pine cones" that's my queue to get out :)

Do you decorate with pine cones. I would love to hear all your ideas!!!

Also, just a reminder that the Monticello Old Fashioned Christmas Show at Monticello Marketplace is still going on until December 27th.
Us junkers are still bringing in wonderful junk. Be sure to check it out.
Hope you all have a FAB weekend!!!

My Baby

That's her with the beautiful red hair!!!
This weekend was spent with family!!!
My baby Sidney turns 14 today, so Saturday we celebrated with family and friends.
A long trip to Washington Square and Cheesecake Factory put a large dent in my pocketbook :) Have you ever had their Red Velvet Cheesecake???
YUM
Sunday we enjoyed our day outdoors.
Fishing at Rowland Lake and Northwestern resulted Mike in one large trout, me a sunburn and lots of laughs with Sarah, Chris and one of Sid's best buds, Madisyn. That's her above.
I have a long week ahead.
Sunday was the last day of the Monticello Antique Mall Home and Garden Show.
So I will be making several trips after work to pick up my goods.
I also have a store order to fill, soap to make and items to price for the upcoming
Mother's Day Plant & Garden Fair coming to Camas, WA. May 8.
Just in time for Mother's Day.
So say a little prayer that I can fit this all in with work!!!!
Have a blessed week

Booth at Expo

Here are some pics of my booth at this last weekend's Portland Antique & Collectible
Show. Thank you to everyone who came out to shop, look and visit!!!
I was able to meet a new friend. Rene from Miss Gracie's House introduced herself and visited with me for a bit. Check out her blog...... Rene, so nice to meet you!!!!
Stopped by Monticello tonight and did some "booth redo". Took a nice bead board cabinet and a gray nightstand. Grey is a hot color this year, especially in Sweden.

I had a wonderful time and am looking forward to my next show at Monticello Home and Garden Show. Mark your calendar to attend.
April 9th 10:00 am
Blessings

Recent Finds

Saturday Mike and I headed over to an estate sale right down the street from our house.
We ran into a few of our friends there too.
Debbie from Worthy Goods, Julie from Julie & Jeff Primitives
and Joe from Barn House.
I was able to get a few really cool things.
Look at these silver hair brushes......I was so excited.

These are some of my Hydrangeas that were dried this summer.
They are one of my favorite flowers.
I love how they last and last,
(As long as the dog doesn't knock them down too many times...)

Don't forget to stop by Monticello Antique Marketplace this Sunday.
They are having a Superbowl sale from 10-5
Even serving Champagne!!!!!
You will find a discount of 15% in my booth.
Hope you all have a fantastic week.

Signs of Spring

Saturday brought some beautiful sunshine our way giving me the
worst case of Spring Fever!!!

Found these lovely bird eggs at a nice little shop in
Woodland, WA.
Had to have them.

A lovely Hyacinth that I brought home.

One day later I had a beautiful flower. So pretty.

Here is an antique frame I have been working on.
Given new life with several coats of paint.
Now I want to keep it!!!

The cute little sign I bought from Erin of Rickety Picket.
My favorite color of blue.
Stopped by Monticello tonight to drop off a few treasures and to fluff.
Joyce greeted me with the great news confirming my space at the
Home and Garden Show in April...
Yeah!!!
Hope you all have a fantastic week.
Until we meet again.

My Baby & The Newest Member of my Family

As I am searching through my pictures deciding what I should post about I came across this picture of Sidney. I thought to myself...WOW, look how beautiful & grown up my baby looks. Sidney loves to take photos of herself and her friends. She is my little Red Head!!!! My challenge as a mother and so different than her older sisters. Spoiled beyond realization. More like her father than anyone wants to admit (like Mike). And I wouldn't trade her for anything in this world. Love you Sid.....
Now on a lighter note.
I wanted to introduce you to the newest member of my Family.....Not People family,
Boot family...
I was in need of some black boots...You know, those kinds that go with work slacks and jeans too.
This is what I found....Comfy and Cute to Boot!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
They can be found here
Today must have been a "Spoil Me Day"
Don't forget to spoil yourself once in awhile....
Your worth it!!!!!!!!!!!

New X 2

New Years Eve started with a little booth makeover.
You may remember "Bertha" from a previous post, (my large primitive cupboard at Monticello).
Well Bertha will be going to a new home so it was high time for a booth redo.
Shelby and I spent a few hours at Monticello doing what I love to do....Playing with my "JUNK"

Here are some pics of what we ended up with. We were very pleased!!!

Somehow the pictures just don't do it justice. You will have to go see for yourself, hint hint!!!
Then that evening Mike and I left for Long Beach for some New Years Fun.
Here is a pic of the sunset that welcomed 2010. Very beautiful.
Here is our home away from home.
Where one day that log cabin from my Santa Wish List will sit :)

We have just over an acre, plenty of room for
Summer Camp Out Beach Party!!!!

Hope you all had a safe New Years!!!
May all your resolutions be successful.
Blessings

True confessions of a overworked, underpaid,
tried and true junker.......
All I keep thinking about is Christmas....
Trees, Stockings, Lights, Candles,
How I will decorate my space at Monticello.......
Make it stop :)
Are you thinking about Christmas????
It's my favorite time of the year.
I'm already listening to Christmas Music....

Is there any help for Me????
